This is a highly conceptual approach to Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Artist of the Beautiful." Instead of binding the book, it is instead left freely hanging with only the first and last page attached to the cover. By doing this, when opened the book creates a circle that represents the cyclical loop of time. The textures of overlapping type correspond with the protagonist's fits of mental instability and function as visual representations of anxiety and depression meant to make the reader uncomfortable as they approach them.
